Towards Climate Services based on demand and guided by science -seminar | 19.6.2017 Helsinki, Finland

The EU-MACS project, which studies how supply of and demand for climate services can be better matched, organizes its first seminar: Towards Climate Services based on demand and guided by science in Helsinki on 19 June. Next to presenting the findings on the current functioning of the climate services market, experiences, needs, and prospects of climate service users will get ample attention. The seminar is especially meant to engage with representatives from finance, tourism and urban planning and with climate service providers.

10.55 – 12.15 invited speakers

  • Susanna Kankaanpää (Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority) – experiences with selection and use of climate services in urban planning
  • Esko Kivisaari (Federation of Finnish Financial Services / EC High Level Group on Sustainable Finance) – climate services needs and prerequisites for the finance sector
  • Marta Bruno Soares (Univ. of Leeds – Sustainability Research Institute) – key messages on user needs and current obstacles based on the SECTEUR project
